When did the start of swing Dancing ? That is a question I bet you would ask. The start of Swing Dance was taken in place in Salem, New York, 1920's. It was when the big bands took over the pop culture. Swing music has influenced the new generations of music. The Lindy Hop was fast and intricate to match the music that was being produced by the big bands. The big bands started getting smaller and the dances start to evolve with the different music over the years. Over 30 years the dance was later change to the public such as the jitterbug, boogie woogie, rock'n'roll. Then later on in the 1960' s partner dancing was not really much famous, it was technically out of style that is until the 1980's it was then re-emerged in the French discotheques as a French Jive or also called modern jive. Then in the 1990's the United Kingdom, the swing dance was brought back again. But if you have noticed that much of the beginnings of swing dancing happened in the Savory Ballroom, Harlem, New York. The Savory Ballroom was the first place the Lindy Hop was danced, Frankie Manning danced there( who is on of the best swing dancer ever), then Dean Collins also danced there too( he was a pretty good dancer, but not sure if is well known. Wait he is pretty well know). New York was the kinda like the birth of swing dancing.
